Parameter Options
In the forward programming menu indicated above under the Location section, the frame rate for each servo output can be modified to the following.
Inh (Inhibited)
The servo frame rate will match the radios RF frame rate
Default for non-stabilized receivers
5.5ms, 11ms, 22ms
The servo frame rate will be fixed to one of these values
Stabilized receivers default to 22ms, and switch to 11ms after First Time Setup or Relearn Servo Settings for any stabilized outputs.
SRXL2
Only selectable on Output Channel 1
Forces the system to use SRXL2 on this port instead of autodetecting SRXL2 or PWM. This might be needed to bypass the autodetection requirements which some setups might not fulfill.
Overview
In our systems, there are typically 2 frame rates.
RF Framerate - rate at which radio data is transmitted to the receiver
Servo Framerate - rate at which servos are sent new position updates (PWM pulses)
Non-Stabilized Receivers
The default framerate is set to Inh, which means servo framerate will match RF framerate. This is because there's no need to update the servos faster than the radio sends updated channel data.
Stabilized Receivers
The default framerate is set to 22ms, and is then updated to 11ms after First Time Setup or Relearn Servo Settings for any stabilized outputs. The framerate for stabilized outputs could be further reduced (faster) to 5.5ms if desired and if the servo is capable. Even though the radio may not be able to update the channels at faster speeds, they can benefit from quicker updates from AS3X+ and SAFE.
When to Adjust Defaults
Default framerate settings should be adjusted in the following scenarios
When servos can’t handle faster framerates
This is typically an issue with analog servos. In which case setting 22ms is recommended
If adding stabilization to a servo that can’t handle 11ms, you might need to manually switch the framerate back to 22ms.
When faster stabilization updates are desired and the servo can handle faster update rates
This is typically only possible with digital servos
5.5ms is currently the fastest framerate offered
If an SRXL2 device is being used on the throttle port, and the default autodetect function needs to be bypassed.
